privacy policy

Brain Debt is owned and operated by Unfair Advantage LTD. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can contact us about your data.

1. who we are

Brain Debt is a workday productivity product owned and operated by Unfair Advantage LTD. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, email julian@braindebt.app.

2. what we collect before launch

While Brain Debt is in pre-launch, we may collect:

  • your email address when you join the waitlist, buy a founder seat, or contact us;
  • payment confirmation details from Stripe, such as payment status, amount, currency, and customer email;
  • messages you send us, including support requests and founder feedback;
  • basic technical logs from our hosting and database providers, such as IP address, browser, device, timestamps, and error logs;
  • ad and referral data, such as UTM parameters, campaign IDs, Google click IDs, and similar attribution data when you arrive from an ad or link;
  • analytics and conversion events if we enable tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Reddit Pixel, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or LinkedIn Conversions API.

3. what the product may collect after launch

When the Brain Debt app launches, we expect to collect only the information needed to run the product, including your account details, session history, exercise history, skip count, lock schedule, blocked app or website preferences, product settings, and crash or diagnostic logs.

Brain Debt is not designed to read your emails, Slack messages, documents, AI prompts, or private work content. If that changes, we will update this policy before collecting that type of data.

4. how we use data

We use data to:

  • run the website, waitlist, founder seat purchase flow, and future product;
  • send product updates, launch emails, receipts, support messages, and refund confirmations;
  • process payments and prevent fraud;
  • measure whether ads and campaigns are working;
  • improve the website, product, onboarding, and messaging;
  • comply with legal, accounting, tax, and security obligations.

5. payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number or card security code on our servers. Stripe provides us with confirmation details needed to manage your founder seat, support requests, and refunds.

6. cookies, pixels, and attribution

We may use cookies, pixels, tags, server-side conversion APIs, and similar technologies to understand traffic, measure ad performance, and improve the site. These may include Google, Reddit, Meta, and LinkedIn tools when enabled.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Some tracking may also be controlled through the privacy settings offered by Google, Reddit, Meta, LinkedIn, and your device or browser.

7. service providers

We use service providers to host the site, store data, process payments, send emails, and measure performance. These may include Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Google, Reddit, Meta, and LinkedIn. We only share information needed for those providers to perform their services.

8. legal basis for eea and uk users

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on contract where needed to provide founder access or the product, consent for optional marketing or certain cookies where required, legitimate interests for security, analytics, product improvement, and attribution, and legal obligation for tax, accounting, and compliance records.

9. retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Waitlist and founder seat records are kept until they are no longer needed for launch, support, refunds, tax, accounting, or legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your data, and we will do so unless we need to keep it for a legitimate legal or business reason.

10. your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to certain processing of your data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Email julian@braindebt.app to make a request.

11. international transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards from our providers for those transfers.

12. children

Brain Debt is not intended for children. The product and founder seat are intended for adults and working professionals. Do not use the site or purchase a founder seat if you are under 18.

13. security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No online service is perfectly secure, so please contact us immediately if you believe your data has been exposed.

14. changes

We may update this policy as the product, website, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
